Outbound Pit Team Lead

VGM Fulfillment is a national leader in CPAP machine and resupply order fulfillment. As an employee-owned company, every person at VGM has a personal stake in seeing business succeed. We do this by taking responsibility from our customers for the key operations of order fulfillment : picking, packing, shipping, and inventory management. Our network of fulfillment centers is strategically located throughout the United States providing coverage to all 50 states. This role needs to be present onsite at our warehouse location in Waterloo, IA.

Job Purpose Summary : This job is the front-line support for the associates and supervisors. Team leads support all the efforts in the warehouse and are the experts in operational standards. Team leads are also expected to be exemplary workers and be available to assist the team whenever possible.

Functions of the Outbound Pit Team Lead role will include operating a forklift, reach truck, or electric pallet jack. Operation of this equipment is considered safety-sensitive falls within the parameters of VGM Fulfillment's Drug-free Workplace Policy.

Reporting to : Outbound Supervisor / Manager

Working Location : On-site - Waterloo Warehouse

Work Hours Classification : Semi-full time, Weekend shift, Friday-Sunday - 6 : 00am-6 : 30pm

Key Responsibilities :

• Assist in writing disciplinary plans
• Assist in annual reviews for employees
• Assist in ADP timecard approval and PTO requests
• Provide indirect supervision of employees and support supervisor in team member initiatives.
• Evaluate the needs of the team and communicate openly with the supervisor and manager.
• Assist employees in all training efforts and handling overflow work.
• Maintaining the quality station and documenting any errors.
• Assist in making sure bulk orders get audited.
• Handling all email communication that comes to the warehouse requests distro list
• Communicate daily stats to the team.
• Be available to come in early and stay late as needed to provide adequate support to the business.
• Maintain a clean and safety work environment to prevent accidents and injuries
• Maintain compliance, safety, and quality standards by ensuring strict adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Assists with safety inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards and complete all necessary documentation.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working with others of varying backgrounds.
• Set a positive example through personal attendance and time management.
• Be willing and adapt to change to support business objectives.
• Demonstrate accurate verbal and written communication skills.
