JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Patient Service Associate at Duke Lightner Dermatology and Duke Wakefield Mohs Surgery provides clerical support for the dermatology providers and their patients. This support includes coordinating and participating in a variety of duties associated with the daily clinic preparation process, patient identification, patient check in / out, charge posting, cash management and patient appointment scheduling. The position also involves customer service, message distribution, making confirmation calls, ancillary scheduling, document scanning, chart preparation and referral management.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Check patients in upon arrival, includes patient identification, accurate data entry of patient demographic information, collection & posting of copays / patient portion / account balances, present and educate patients on required forms and obtain signatures as required by policy. Maintain PHI.
• Check out patients, includes making return appointments, entering recalls and scheduling referrals as needed.
• Prepare for clinic visits. Includes chart preparation.
• Answer telephone. Includes scheduling appointments. Work directly with scheduling team, clinical staff and providers.

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
