Overview

The Electrical Designer II performs technical activities on assigned projects under supervision of a licensed professional engineer, including participation in technical studies, investigations and designs on assigned projects. The Electrical Designer assists the project team in the production of projects that are on-time, within budget and of the utmost quality. The Electrical Designers responsibilities include the complete Electrical Design of their assigned project, and / or other project tasks.

Responsibilities

• Designs and prepares drawings for electrical systems for building projects including conducting code review, lighting calculations, lighting and receptacle layout, one-line diagrams, branch circuit, feeder, and service calculations, etc., under the supervision of a licensed professional electrical engineer.
• Attends meetings with owners, clients, and / or architects as needed; Prepares and distributes meeting notes.
• Conducts site surveys to determine existing facility conditions or proposed conditions.
• Assists the design team in the coordination with other discipline including architectural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, civil, etc.
• Accompanies senior level staff / project manager in performing project site visits during construction to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications, owner expectations, and building codes.
• Assists in preparing punch lists and project observations reports to note findings.
• Actively attends in-house and external training sessions to obtain knowledge in necessary technical areas.
• Participates in industry organizations and attends events, meetings, and activities.
• Upholds TMEs owner advocacy philosophy and organizational core values.

Pay Range

USD $27.92 - USD $37.29 / Hr.
