ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION
Title of Position : PRINCIPAL BOOKKEEPER – TRANSPORTATION
Work Year : 12 Months
Effective Date of Employment : Immediately
Salary : In accordance with the Clerical Salary Scale.
Organizational Relationship or Line of Authority : Directly responsible to the Transportation Coordinator, Director of Title I and Community Outreach and / or his / her designee.
Statement of Duties :
- Process the bi-weekly payroll.
- Tracking and processing data on Excel.
- Processing invoices and purchase orders in a timely manner.
- Provides administrative support in order to ensure effective and efficient operations for the Transportation Department by maintaining a filing system for all documents and ensuring the confidentiality and security of all files.
- Assume shared responsibility for the clerical functions in the Transportation Department.
- Makes and receives telephone calls, takes messages, retrieves messages and routes calls to the appropriate office staff.
- Assists in preparing all district, state, and federal reports as needed.
- Displays ethical and professional behavior in communicating and working with staff.
- Exercises considerable discretion in the protection and release of confidential information and in the interpretation and administration of policies and procedures.
- Inventory departmental supplies and material; with the approval of the Transportation Coordinator
- Assists in maintaining a clean, attractive, orderly, safe, and efficient office environment.
- Displays strong, positive communication and interaction skills when dealing with co-workers, students, administrators, parents / guardians, visitors and / or the community.
- Must attend work regularly and is punctual reporting to work and returning from scheduled breaks.
- Responsible for other general duties as indicated by the Transportation Coordinator and / or his / her designee and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
Qualifications :
High School diploma required.Minimum of two years of experience in transportation and school setting preferred.Bilingual preferredDemonstrated excellent oral and written skills.Demonstrated computer proficiency specifically Google Docs and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)Experience with Infinite Visions, Routefinder, School Brains and Time Clock Plus preferred.Must be able to daily plan, prioritize, organize, and accomplish work in a timely manner.Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and confidentiality.Ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment and adhere to mandated deadlines.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent, the Director of Title I and Community Outreach, the Transportation Coordinator and / or his / her designee.Closing Date for Receipt of Application : Until Filled
