Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Rapid City, South Dakota.

• General Information
• Beds : 39 - MICU, SICU, CICU, TICU - mixed unit
• Minimal Experience :
• 2 years of ICU experience EXCLUDING travel experience is most preferred
• If they have 1.5 years of ICU experience EXCLUDING travel and have significant RN experience outside of ICU, please have CRT send to management team for approval
• Will you accept a first-time traveler? No. Minimum one prior travel assignment.
• Travelers must live 100 miles away
• Permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Patient Types :
• Complex ICU patients ranging from surgical, medical, cardiac (preferred), neuro and trauma
• Diagnoses include but are not limited to : ARDS, MI, CVA / TIA, COVID, s / p cardiac cath, post-surgical, multiple system trauma - heavy trauma population
• Cardiac experience is preferred (not required) : CABG / TAVR - 24 to 48 hrs post op experience is preferred but not required for travelers
• Will not take fresh open hearts unless they are experienced, and the facility felt comfortable with this - given to permanent staff
• Patient Ratios :
• RN : 1 : 1, 1 : 2, 1 : 3 (rare) - acuity dependent
• Required Certifications :
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• TNCC (REQUIRED) - please decline travelers that would not be willing to obtain this certification prior to arrival
• Required Education :
• Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
• Skills required :
• Epic experience
• Comfortability working a 48hr / week contract - this is not negotiable for this unit
• Experience with the above-mentioned patients

• ICU RN qualified to float to ED
• PCU RN qualified to float to ICU
• Experience with IV medications (vasopressors, sedation, paralytics), hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management, telemetry, strong critical thinking and assessment skills, working well in team setting, comfortable in fast pace setting with all critical patients.
• Impella, IABP and CRRT - strongly preferred
