Must-Have :

Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care.

Refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of the contract.

Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facility.

Successful completion of a pass / fail exam during orientation is required.

Candidates should have strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills.

Description :

This position is for a Registered Nurse in a medical surgical environment.

The unit focuses on neuro patients, including those with strokes and stable neurological deficits.

The responsibilities include caring for patients post-neurosurgery and managing Med Surg overflow.

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 5-6.

Common patient diagnoses may include joint replacements, fractures, COPD exacerbations, and sepsis.

Nurses will be required to titrate specific drips such as heparin and lidocaine.

There will be support from nurse aids and patient care technicians in the unit.

Charge nurses are present on every shift and take patient assignments.

A limited amount of block scheduling may be approved for travelers.

Weekend requirements include every other weekend, and holiday requirements range from 2-3 shifts during the holiday season.

Floating to other medical surgical areas may be required.

The dress code includes navy blue scrubs.

The unit focuses on hourly rounding and responsiveness.

Successful nurses exhibit good attendance, teamwork, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
