Nurse Practitioner

Summary :

Sheppard Pratt is seeking a psychiatric nurse practitioner to provide outpatient services at our Outpatient Mental Health Center (OMHC) at our Gaithersburg clinic.

This position is for 30 hours per week. We are looking for a highly experienced NP with extensive knowledge of psychosis.

This is a 30hrs / week position. The Nurse Practitioner provides clinical services to clients of the OMHC, works as a collaborative member of the treatment team, and attends all required meetings and in-service education.

Psychiatric Providers are a critical part of our multi-disciplinary teams and possess unique expertise and a strong focus on providing quality mental healthcare in the highest level of outpatient care setting.

This position will serve individuals who have one or more serious and persistent mental illnesses and have received previous psychiatric treatments.

General Summary :

This is a licensed professional position requiring knowledge and licensure in psychiatric nursing allowing the diagnosis of mental health disorders, as well as the licensure to prescribe psychotropic medications.

Requirements :

• Must have a current license to practice in Maryland at the time of hire.
• Must have at least 12months of prescribing experience.
• Must have at least 2 years’ experience working as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at outpatient setting / clinic post-graduation.
