About the Opportunity

We are a Law firm with state-wide practice seeking a full time LITIGATION PARALEGAL for its Austin office. (Central location.

Candidate must have minimum 4 years litigation experience, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of the civil court system.

We represent appraisal districts in their value litigation cases and have a booming docket.

Qualifications : at least 4 years experience, degree ideally in paralegal studies, as well as a paralegal certificate, but will consider significant paralegal experience in lieu of those qualifications.

Experience with a high-volume practice is a plus.

Responsibilities include performing a variety of legal and administrative tasks, including :

  • Prepare / draft pleadings, motions and written discovery in civil litigation.
  • Communicate and assist clients and attorneys in preparing responses to written discovery, document production(s), preparing for depositions and trials.
  • Review incoming mail / e-mail to calendar events and deadlines.
  • Ability to manage a large docket efficiently (manage electronic filing, calendars, litigation deadlines, etc.)
  • Perform duties administrative in nature pertaining to cases.
  • Prepare cases for trial including exhibit preparation, knowledge of electronic exhibit preparation, ability to prepare a trial notebook and jury charge, etc.

The ideal candidate for the position must be able to function well in a fast-paced, professional environment, be extremely organized, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and be able to perform tasks with minimal supervision.

The ability to prioritize, multi-task, take initiative, and meet deadlines is essential. The candidate must have a high level of efficiency and accuracy in dealing with detailed work.

Candidate must be computer literate with Windows and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Clio or similar billing system.
