Responsibilities Work in an acute care hospital setting on a 30-bed Med / Surg unit Patient population includes total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urologic procedures, abdominal surgeries, bariatrics, medical overflow, and frequent post-surgical drains Day shift, 12-hour shifts, with every other weekend required Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 4-5 on days and 1 : 5-6 on nights First to float to medical and telemetry units as needed Occasional management of heparin drips, PCA pumps, and TPN EPIC EMR is used on the unit Charge nurse present each shift; nurse assistants available with a 1 : 12 ratio Remote telemetry monitored by dedicated monitor techs No strip reading required by RN Bedside shift report is standard practice on this unit Strong, collaborative unit culture and supportive team environment Orientation includes 12 hours of training Flexible scrub color policy allows any color scrubs Holiday shifts required as needed based on unit needs RTO (up to 7 days) must be requested up front; additional RTO is not permitted First-time travelers will be considered Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility Applicants must not be currently or recently employed (within one year) by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities in any capacity except through outside firms Requirements Active ND or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg nursing experience required Current BLS certification required Surgical, post-op, or early ambulation experience preferred Profile must include two professional references—one recent supervisor reference from the last 12 months and another peer or supervisor reference from the last 3 years Copy of driver’s license required for consideration Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-620376.
