What You'll Do
As the Underground Foreman Boring Crew, you will oversee and lead a crew responsible for the installation of underground utilities such as pipes and conduits using trenchless boring methods that eliminate the need for large open trenches. You will ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities :
- Supervising a boring crew consisting of Operators and Crew Members to complete underground boring projects according to plans and specifications.
- Locating and marking existing underground utilities before starting work.
- Directing the crew in drilling pilot holes, reaming to the required size, pulling conduit or pipe through the bore, and restoring the surface upon completion.
- Coordinating daily work schedules, assigning tasks, and ensuring proper use and maintenance of boring equipment.
- Enforcing safety procedures and ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
- Monitoring progress and communicating with project management to ensure timelines and quality standards are met.
- Maintaining accurate job documentation, including bore logs, utility records, and daily reports.
- Providing training, feedback, and mentorship to crew members to promote skill development and teamwork.
What You'll Have
Proven experience as a Foreman or Lead in directional boring or underground utility installation (minimum 3 years preferred).Prior experience installing conduit, fiber, or HDPE pipe via trenchless methods.Experience operating directional boring equipment.Strong working knowledge of boring operations, including drilling, reaming, pullback, and restoration processes.Ability to read and interpret construction plans, maps, and utility drawings.Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a crew in a field environment.Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.Valid driver's license; ability to travel to job sites as needed.Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions.What You'll Get
