Full Time Summary of Responsibilities This is a unique position that includes teaching, systems analysis, and technology business relationship responsibilities.
This position will teach an average of six credit hours per fall and spring semester, 5 credit hours per summer, ranging from remedial mathematics through Calculus II and elementary statistics.
Other responsibilities will be to serve as the department system analyst and the business relationship manager for LAS College.
Minimum Education Master’s degree or higher in the Mathematical Sciences Minimum Experience
- 1+ years’ of mathematics instruction at a 4 year university
- 1+ years’ experience in Microsoft and Linux operating system management
- 1+ years’ experience in computational mathematics (academic research, programming, and / or instruction)
- 1+ years’ experience in online course instruction and / or development

Proposed Job Duties Responsibility / Duty Instructor Duties : Teach an average of seventeen hours annually (fall, spring, summer) primarily focusing on courses required for a Minor in Mathematics and courses involving computational mathematics and / or computational statistics.
Importance (E) Essential Percentage 45 Responsibility / Duty Instructor Service : Participate in all required curriculum committee appointments, mentor GTAs in mathematics instruction, assist in the MathLab, and serve on appropriate departmental committee appointments.
Importance (E) Essential Percentage 5 Responsibility / Duty Educational and Research Support :
Design and develop technology solutions for use within hybrid and online mathematics courses.
Create training materials for faculty to implement asynchronous and synchronous mathematics courses.
Develop and support technology solutions for computational mathematics and / or statistics courses.
Research new learning management systems to possibly utilize in mathematics courses.
Work with the Systems Manager to support the software and hardware issues of departmental faculty, staff and GTA’s.
Research the needs of educational Academic Computing and Data Science. Importance (E) Essential Percentage 25 Responsibility / Duty IT Business Relationship Manager :
Align ITS activity to appropriately support the mission, strategies, and key initiatives of the supported organization.
Create Evaluate ITS service performance relative to the supported organization.
