Overview
Lead Engineer Design role at Williams International (onsite only).
Position is 100% onsite; no remote or hybrid option is available at this time.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Integrated Manufacturing Process & Product Design Team (IMPPDT) and analyze existing designs driven by corrective actions requests (CAR) and redesign based on manufacturing considerations.
- Drive manufacturing considerations, including design to cost and quality, early in the design process.
- Provide consistent direction and accountability from conceptual design through development into production.
- Create designs to eliminate the need for redesign late in programs to address producibility and functionality.
- Generate the design, layout, planning, launch plan, tooling, FTPS, etc., necessary for entering production.
- Develop processes, DRs, and CARDs, and perform associated design updates and PPAP before parts are designated as production-ready.
- Ensure non-conforming parts are segregated and managed in compliance with regulatory standards while awaiting review and formal disposition.
- Apply MRB processes and non-conforming material handling in metal spinning, hydroforming, turning, milling, and electrical discharge machining (EDM) as engaged in turbine engines, with customer approval where applicable.
- Ensure employee compliance with factory-floor computerized systems, such as Online Quality Reporting (OQR), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Factory Data Collection (FDC), and related programs.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering (U.S. or foreign) or a related field.2 years of CNC manufacturing processes engineering experience engaged in turbine engines.2 years of experience developing manufacturing processes to create turbine engine parts from raw materials to finished products.2 years of experience performing material review board (MRB) processes and handling non-conforming material, engaged with turbine engines.2 years of experience creating production plans, including operators work instructions and tool design.How to Apply
