Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned Payroll Specialist to join multi-national workforce. This role ensures payroll and benefits integrity for hundreds of U.S. employees and employees in 6+ entities internationally

As part of a publicly traded company, accuracy, compliance, and timeliness are essential. This role requires a proven track record of delivering results with minimal supervision, navigating complex compliance requirements (including SOX), and maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality.

This is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence at the corporate office a minimum of 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

Payroll

  • Full ownership of bi-weekly payroll processing for 500+ multi-state employees via ADP Workforce Now
  • Ensuring accuracy of new hires, terminations, time & attendance, wage changes, deductions, garnishments, variable pay, and reimbursements
  • Deliver accurate, timely reporting to HR, Finance, and leadership teams (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual). Advanced Excel proficiency required
  • Ensure SOX compliance and maintain complete payroll documentation
  • Stay current on payroll laws, regulations, and tax filing requirements across jurisdictions
  • Train managers on payroll and timekeeping processes, addressing wage / hour issues proactively
  • Lead payroll activities related to equity events and trading windows, including after-hours work
  • Maintain accurate payroll and personnel files in electronic document management systems
  • Partner with Recruiting on on-boarding documentation and employee orientation meetings
  • Support quarterly and annual tax filings and internal reporting
  • Ensure all payroll, benefits, and compensation practices comply with SOX, federal, state, and international regulations
  • Participate in audits as needed
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with all employee data and sensitive information

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Accounting, or related field
  • 5+ years of payroll and benefits experience, including multi-state U.S. payroll; international payroll experience strongly preferred
  • Deep knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and advanced Excel proficiency
  • Knowledge of Employee Navigator or similar benefits portal
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills and exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
