Job description

SGI Global is seeking an IT Senior Professional to support the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District 5 Traffic Operations. The IT Senior Professional II will support the network operations of approximately 2,296 traffic management devices across 350 miles of roadway. The selected professional will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted operation, maintenance, and performance of the FDOT network.

  • Contingent on contract award

Responsibilities :

  • Oversee and ensure continuous operation of FDOT's network, including :

    • 434 CCTV cameras

  • 422 detectors
  • 133 Dynamic Message Signs (DMS)
  • 380 switches
  • Travel to field locations, maintenance warehouses as needed.
  • Coordinate with contractors, service providers, and consultants.
  • Direct physical layer changes and manage Layer 2 / 3 network protocols.
  • Administer and operate Libre NMS and Brocade Network Performance Monitor.
  • Configure and manage Fortinet firewalls (role and policy updates).
  • Perform weekly audits and updates for FortiGate Web Filters.
  • Complete required background checks and security training (SLERS, CJIS, FDOT modules).
  • Provide monthly reporting and timesheets for actual hours worked.

    • Qualifications

  • US Citizen.
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in IT networking.
  • Must complete all security and background screenings prior to start.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work full-time, 40 hours / week.
