As part of the Cloud Network team, you'll collaborate with a diverse group of engineers spread across Australia, the US, and Canada, and play a crucial role in delivering Slack's remarkable services to over 17 million daily active users. We are responsible for managing Slack's expansive AWS cloud infrastructure, encompassing essential networking, account management, identity access, and innovative infrastructure-as-code platforms.
About the Role :
This is a full-time position based in the U.S.
What You Will Be Doing :
- Designing, building, and operating the systems that drive Slack's global cloud networking stack, including load balancing, service networking, DNS, CDN, and traffic management.
- Developing and automating defenses against DDoS attacks and large-scale network threats.
- Contributing to infrastructure-as-code and automation frameworks to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Troubleshooting complex challenges in distributed systems and networks within Linux-based environments.
- Collaborating closely with AWS and engineering teams to scale Slack's infrastructure and adopt cutting-edge cloud technologies.
- Driving observability, reliability, and user-friendliness improvements by rapidly iterating on designs.
- Participating in on-call rotations to ensure the resiliency of critical Slack infrastructure.
What You Should Have :
Permanent residency in the U.S.8+ years of software engineering experience, emphasizing distributed systems and cloud-native applications.Hands-on experience with cloud providers, including AWS or GCP.Solid understanding of networking protocols such as TCP / IP and DNS.Experience building automation or services using languages like Go, Ruby, Python, or C / C++.Expertise in infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.Background in deploying and debugging server applications on Linux.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to convey complex tech concepts effectively to various stakeholders.A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).Bonus Points :
