Job description

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Up to 3 Early Intervention is seeking a motivated, efficient, committed, and detail-oriented Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide coaching to families with children under 3 with delays or disabilities. The COTA provides family-centered coaching to guide families in helping their child develop needed skills. This position reports to the Division Director or Program Coordinator. The position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Services are provided at the child's home, over Zoom, or at other community settings.

Because a portion of the communities we serve require services in languages other than English, fluency in both Spanish and English is a preferred qualification.

This is an hourly, non-benefited, position that will work between 25-29 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Coach parents of children under three years of age who may have feeding, sensory integration, and fine motor delays.
  • Use observation & varied assessments to identify developmental delays in all areas of development.
  • Provide individual coaching to parent(s) to assist their family of an Up To 3 child with strategies to support the child's learning in everyday routines and activities.
  • Identify and implement services and strategies to meet the IFSP outcomes identified for each child.
  • Monitor child's progress to make sure that they are successfully meeting IFSP outcomes.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation.
  • Complete timely scheduling of home-based and virtual home visits.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited associate's degree program and the required field work for the degree.
  • Pass the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) exam.
  • Current Utah DOPL license.
  • Able to practice unencumbered.
  • In good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English.
  • Access to reliable transportation to visit clients' homes.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bi-lingual English & Spanish speaker
