POSITION SUMMARY

Performs a variety of clerical duties to support Production / Plant Engineering. Tasks may be assigned in accordance with the office procedures of the Production / Plant Engineering department and may include but not limited to : collect, organize, prepare, and maintain documents or procedures.

Partners with other areas to ensure timely completion of projects in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities of Engineering Specialist can include :

  • Follow all company Policies and Procedures, Quality and Environmental Management Systems (QMS & EMS), Kawasaki Production System (KPS) and any other legal and compliance regulations that may apply such as OSHA.
  • Process, distribute and maintain Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s).
  • Data entry and filing ECR (Eng. Change Requests), ECO, Tooling and other data spread sheets.
  • Documentation, assisting engineers with department requirements.
  • Compile, copy, sort, maintain, audit and file records both manually and using computer systems.
  • Partner with other departments to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Assist in the development of operational procedures and manuals and distribute appropriately.
  • Develop and document technical design specifications.
  • Maintain a library of technical documentation.
  • Proofread documents to ensure continuity of style of content.
  • Manage updates and revisions to technical literature.
  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
  • Create and maintain the information architecture.
  • Communicate with customers, employees and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, take orders and address complaints.

  • Clerical Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing and organizing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.

Operate office machines such as copiers, scanners, facsimile, and telephone systems.

  • Confidentiality The behavior of not disclosing proprietary or personal employee information to any sources within the organization or outside the organization.
  • Detail-Oriented Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
  • Gather and Report Information - Compiling, tabulating or verifying information and data obtained or received for use by others.
  • Multi-tasking Able to handle multiple tasks and competing demands; sets priorities and ensures all issues are addressed while being sensitive to time constraints and resource availability.
  • Process knowledge Ability to learn or become aware of processes or procedures that relate to a specific job or position's duties and responsibilities.

This may include product and component knowledge.

SKILLS & ABILITIES Education / Experience

High School graduate or General Education Degree (GED) and one to two years related experience, or a combination of education and experience in a position related field.

Computer Skills

Display appropriate proficiency with computers and computer applications including : spreadsheets (e.g. Excel), word processing (e.

g. Word), presentation software (e.g.,PowerPoint),databases (e.g. Access, contact management software), internet / intranet (e.

g. browsers, search engines), special applications, and able to use e-mail effectively.
