Protection Engineer?- 5+ Years

POWER Engineers, Member of WSP is seeking a 5+ year Protection Engineer to join our SCADA and Analytical Services (SAS) team in Ft Worth, TX.? Preference will be given to those that are able to travel to the Ft Worth, TX office regularly.

Roles and Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for successful completion of assigned projects and for maintaining and improving client relationships.? Completion of these functions requires technical competence in primary production roles as well as leadership competence in working with clients and mentoring and supervising team members assigned to projects.? Assigned projects will include electrical studies for utility and industrial / commercial clients.? Systems to be analyzed will include conventional and renewable generation facilities, substations, and transmission and distribution systems.? Technical disciplines include the following :

Protective Relaying : short circuit and symmetrical component analysis, time-current coordination, protection scheme and criteria development, relay settings, integration with SCADA systems, NERC compliance, arc flash analysis.?

Applicable software : ? AcSELerator Quickset (SEL-5030), GE Enervista, ASPEN Oneliner, SKM-PTW, ETAP, RSCAD / RTDS

Required Education / Experience?

Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (BSEE)

Five (5) or more?years of industry experience performing studies in technical disciplines described in the Job Description section

EIT certified and eligible to sit for the PE Exam

Desired Education / Experience?

Registered professional engineers (PE) or equivalent

Power Systems focused MSEE

A proven history of completing similar projects in a consulting environment

Experience in mentoring others and in providing technical and commercial leadership in customer focused engineering projects
