Director of Public Works - Civil Engineering
As the Director of Public Works, your main responsibility will be managing and directing the Public Works Department. This will involve developing and implementing department protocols and procedures, serving as the business and technical leader, and securing new business opportunities and clients.
Your key responsibilities will include : - Managing project objectives by collaborating with clients and company personnel, developing proposals, and working with Business Development and Leadership on key performance indicators.
- Assembling, communicating with, directing, and assigning responsibilities to a team of engineers. - Negotiating proposals and contracts with approved subconsultants.
- Controlling multiple projects simultaneously by directing and approving changes in design, specification, budget, and schedule.
- Ensuring project and department revenue goals, deadlines, and budgets are met. - Providing direction and training to personnel, including performance reviews, hiring, and problem resolution.
Qualifications : 1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. 2. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in California. 3. Over 15 years of experience in public works engineering, including city, county, Caltrans, and water agencies.
