Interim Payroll Manager
Our client in the Upper Fairfield County area has an opening for an Interim Payroll Manager. This position requires a skilled and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in managing payroll operations, including multi-state payroll and garnishments, for a large workforce. The role is fully on-site and offers an excellent opportunity to lead a team while contributing to essential year-end payroll activities.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee the processing of garnishments and provide backup support for weekly payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely payments for a workforce of over 8,000 hourly employees.
- Manage and supervise a team of two, providing guidance and ensuring efficient payroll operations.
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of payroll systems, including ADP and similar platforms, to ensure seamless in-house payroll processing.
- Handle multi-state payroll responsibilities, ensuring compliance with state-specific regulations.
- Support year-end payroll activities, including tax reconciliation and preparation of the payroll calendar.
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain accurate payroll records and ensure adherence to organizational policies.
- Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries and issues, providing excellent service to employees.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all payroll transactions and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Continuously review and improve payroll processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements :
Minimum of 10 years of experience in payroll management, including handling large-scale payroll for over 500 employees.Proficiency in full-cycle payroll operations, including garnishments and multi-state payroll.Strong knowledge of ADP payroll systems or similar platforms.Experience in managing and leading a team effectively.Ability to process payroll in-house, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.Familiarity with year-end payroll processes, including tax reconciliation and calendar preparation.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Comprehensive understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
