Sales Manager
A day in the life of a Sales Manager at Altra looks a little like this. The Sales Manager leads overall sales planning, budget, and execution for assigned specialty accounts covering the West. These plans help to guide the Altra sales strategy across the U.S. As a member of the sales management team, the Sales Manager provides leadership, training, and vision to drive product sales by planning, controlling, and directing the activities of the sales representatives in the region. This role reports into the Director of Sales - Specialty and National Accounts, Altra.
The Sales Manager provides dynamic, visible, and inspirational leadership to positively impact business initiatives, direction, and vision for team and peers. The Sales Manager is responsible for recruiting, training, and mentoring new members of the Altra sales team. The Sales Manager brings a high aptitude for business planning, presenting, and developing talent that creates an environment of accountability and path to success to current and future roles of her / his direct reports.
The Sales Manager achieves monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets for the run and outdoor specialty channels. The Sales Manager manages, mentors, and trains internal sales team. The Sales Manager manages team structure that aligns to future distribution and brand strategy, including hiring new talent to support future sales organization and managing through objectives and goals set forth in employee's goals through corporate portal (Workday). The Sales Manager performs thoughtful employee reviews on time and within the directed methods of VFC.
The Sales Manager trains and develops sales representatives to help drive their career and to build future leaders for Altra. The Sales Manager achieves goals set forth in the strategic plan, including enhancing and building account relationships, seasonal Go to Market and growth strategies, and development of the wholesale activation strategies. The Sales Manager develops regional sales plans by territory to align with Altra's and VF's seasonal initiatives and financial targets by region.
The Sales Manager promotes diversity and inclusion in the workplace through development and advancement of underrepresented groups through professional development courses and trainings and actively creates a productive work environment that is free of harassment and bullying. The Sales Manager manages strategic account plans, ensures complete execution and aligns seasonal initiatives with Go to Market (GTM) strategy (partnering with marketing). The Sales Manager coordinates early pre-lines with product team to gather critical information on specific market trends.
The Sales Manager creates and tracks weekly / monthly and quarterly sales goals that tie to strategy and individual rep performance. The Sales Manager oversees the current Altra partner relationships as well as being able to identify and build on new Altra business opportunities including maximizing channels and new accounts. The Sales Manager utilizes consumer, market share, and POS data insights to sustain and grow retail business while proactively addressing issues and opportunities. The Sales Manager co-manages the medical sales program in partnership with sales manager and sales operations coordinator.
The foundation skills you will need in this position are : 5-7+ years of Sales, Product, marketing experience; 5-7+ years of Management experience, overseeing 5-10 direct employees; background in product merchandising, sales, marketing, or retail; proven ability to create and implement winning sales strategies and communicate results clearly; demonstrated results in executing multiple projects and integrated plans on a seasonal basis; ability to negotiate and influence others; ability to work through conflict management situations using Altra Values and looking for a win-win outcome; quantified results in leading teams to targeted results and exceeding expectations; excellent process and organizational management skills; excellent written and oral communication skills; demonstrated team leadership skills; proven ability to build and maintain business critical relationships / partnerships; ability to travel 50%.
Hiring Range : $120,960.00 USD - $151,200.00 USD annually
Incentive Potential : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
