Job description

We are looking for Sr. MSP engineer to bring their professionalism and technical expertise to our growing team. This right person will have all of the required skills listed below.

  • This is a local in office (not hybrid) Pittsburg, PA position as onsite work at client locations is necessary. This requires a reliable and available mode of transportation including the ability to transport equipment.
  • Job Responsibilities and Key Duties :
  • All aspects of delivering both client facing and internal IT Projects including planning, pre-project documentation, project plan creation, setting and managing client expectations for project, setting and measuring project success milestones, project implementation and full documentation of process and outcomes.
  • Provide expertise and mentorship as the escalation point for service desk tickets and technicians.
  • Administer client servers, network equipment, firewalls, and desktops.
  • Ability to identify improvement to process and procedures, written documentation and workflow.
  • Assist with determining the equipment and software to fulfill client requests / needs.
  • Keep all tickets and projects updated and track time in a detailed format.
  • Technical Experience and Skills Necessary
  • Experience :
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in the IT field supporting moderate to complex small business and co-managed business environments. Experience working at a previous IT Consulting company / Managed Services Provider and / or with the Connectwise suite of tools (PSA / RMM, etc.) a huge plus.

You will need to

  • demonstrate
  • advanced / expert level experience / knowledge with the following :
  • Advanced
  • Fortinet
  • skills with firewalls (including packet sniffing), switches, APs and VPNs. This will be tested by questions and a lab setup.
  • Microsoft server
  • systems : Windows Server from 2008 forward.
  • Active Directory
  • (specifically AD Security / Groups, AD roles, permissions, and
  • GPOs
  • in an AD environment)
  • Microsoft desktop
  • systems : Windows 7 forward.
  • Networking- IP Addressing / subnets / default gateways, TCP / IP, NAT, DNS, DHCP, SMTP routing, VLANS, packet tracing
  • Firewalls - setup and troubleshooting of objects, rules, VPNs, SD-WAN, etc.
  • Wireless Networks
  • Microsoft Office Applications
  • Physical server builds for HP servers with RAID systems, iLO, etc.
  • Remote access solutions (VPN, Terminal Services)
  • 2FA / MFA implementation and support experience
  • Mobile / Remote computing including tablets, iPhones, laptops, VPNs, RDP / Terminal Server
  • Microsoft 365 / Email Administration and troubleshooting including mailbox creation / deletion, the ability to troubleshoot mail flow, queues, inbound / outbound delivery, shared mailboxes
  • Office 365 / Exchange Online archiving, mail follow rules, connectors, advanced email flow troubleshooting
  • HyperV Administration
  • vmWare Administration
  • Additional skill sets that would set you apart :

    Set up / configuration / troubleshooting of :

  • Scripting capability to roll out application installation / changes, Office 365 administration or company directed mass changes via PowerShell.
  • Ability to use scripting to automate other routine tasks.
  • Sophos
  • Firewalls and related VPNs
  • Microsoft Exchange 2k7 / 2k10 / 2k13 deployment, migration and recovery
  • Advanced experience with cloud based technologies such as Office 365 in general, SharePoint Online, Hosted Exchange, Google Apps, Cloud based storage platforms such as box, DropBox, ShareSync, etc.
  • Advanced Macintosh support skills
  • Microsoft End Point Manager (Intune)
  • Essential Personal Skills :

  • Ability to operate as a professional regarding time and attendance as well as interactions with teammates and supervisors.
  • Diligence in your attention to detail in your work.
  • Ability to consistently follow up both on projects and on tickets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Have a servant’s mentality when interacting with teammates and clients.
  • Ability to switch gears as needed from between various tasks / tickets.
  • Time management including the ability to handle multiple projects with various timelines and priorities.
  • Willing to continuously improve via training on new technologies.

    Pay : $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
