Could you be the full-time hybrid Software Designer in Pittsburgh, PA, US we’re looking for?


Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your software design and development expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
You'll contribute to the development of safety-critical, real-time train control signaling solutions, ensuring the seamless and safe operation of transportation systems. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, quality assurance, and global stakeholders), coordinate peer reviews of software development artifacts, and continuously enhance your skills by applying new tools, techniques, and processes in an environment that prioritizes continuous improvement, and much more.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Developing subsystem requirements and designs based on system-level designs and requirements. ,

  • Implementing software designs, including unit tests to verify that the software is correct and complete. ,

  • Coordinating and participating in peer reviews of software development artefacts. ,

  • Collaborating effectively as a team player in a dynamic, diverse work environment. ,

  • Engaging in technical discussions and communications with team members across various disciplines and global locations. ,

  • Thriving in a multicultural and multilingual environment with cross-functional teams. ,

  • Learning and applying new tools, techniques, and processes in a continuous improvement-focused environment. ,

  • Ensuring compliance with industry-accepted safety and quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle. ,

  • Familiarity with real-time operating systems (Linux, any real-time OS, Windows) and process control software. ,

  • Experience in agile software development methodologies. ,

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++. ,
