Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior .NET / VB.NET Application Developer to join a long-term project in Pittsburgh, PA. The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing and maintaining enterprise applications using Visual Basic (VB.NET), ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core, and Microsoft Visual Studio. This role requires a highly skilled professional who can analyze business requirements, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and collaborate effectively with global teams and international stakeholders.

The successful candidate will also leverage Microsoft Copilot and modern development tools to improve coding efficiency, automation, documentation, and overall development productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise-level applications using VB.NET, ASP.NET, and ASP.NET Core.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable software solutions.
• Develop, test, debug, and deploy application enhancements and new functionality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, performance issues, and production incidents.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and support materials.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.
• Utilize Microsoft Copilot and AI-assisted development tools to streamline coding, testing, documentation, and productivity.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database interactions with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, architects, QA teams, and other developers throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in technical meetings with international clients and stakeholders.
• Communicate technical concepts, solutions, and recommendations clearly in English.
• Support application modernization initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

Required Qualifications

Technical Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience with Visual Basic (VB.NET).
• Hands-on development experience with:
  • Visual Basic (VB.NET)
  • ASP / ASP.NET
  • ASP.NET Core (.NET Core)
  • Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Microsoft Copilot
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • SQL querying and database development
• Experience with application support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Understanding software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and best practices.
• Ability to work independently and within collaborative development teams.

Communication Requirements

• English proficiency: B2 to C1 level (Required).
• Must be able to successfully participate in an interview conducted in English.
• Ability to:
  • Participate in technical discussions with international clients.
  • Create technical documentation in English.
  • Explain technical requirements, designs, and solutions effectively.
  • Collaborate with geographically dispersed global teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting legacy applications while contributing to modernization initiatives.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Experience working in multinational or globally distributed teams.
• Knowledge of software performance optimization and application security best practice.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve software delivery efficiency.
