GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Chief Information Officer, the Software Application Specialist serves as a technical expert for software system support, application development, and database management. This role provides guidance on complex projects, system enhancements, and ongoing maintenance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical expertise regarding software systems, processes, and operations.
Design, develop, test, configure, implement, and maintain software applications that meet user and organizational requirements.
Perform systems analysis, document requirements, research process improvements, and collaborate with vendors or stakeholders.
Troubleshoot and resolve software and application issues, including root cause analysis.
Lead or coordinate IT projects, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors.
Maintain documentation, network diagrams, and software project specifications.
Provide helpdesk support for complex application or system issues.
Participate in special projects and provide status updates as required.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in business/system analysis, software development, application administration, and maintenance.
Proficient in Windows development environments, web development (C#, VB, JavaScript, HTML), web services, SQL Server, DB2, Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), Microsoft CoPilot, Azure, and cloud solutions.
Experience managing SQL Server databases and enterprise applications.
Strong analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and handle complex, high-pressure tasks.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
PREFERRED:
Knowledge of ITIL processes and ITIL Foundation certification.
Project management experience.
Audio/Video or web server (IIS) experience is a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to use computers and other office equipment; lift and move objects up to 15 lbs.
Ability to sit, stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
