As a Level 2 Systems Engineer, you’ll serve as a key technical expert supporting escalated IT issues, maintaining system uptime, and deploying solutions that make a real impact on our customers’ operations. You’ll collaborate closely with both internal teams and client contacts—owning issues through to resolution and providing mentorship to junior engineers.

What You'll Do
Own and resolve Level 2 technical support tickets with urgency and professionalismMaintain client infrastructure through software updates, patching, and endpoint protectionServe as a trusted technical advisor to designated client sites—building strong, proactive relationshipsContribute to a knowledge-sharing culture by documenting processes and mentoring Level 1 engineersCollaborate with third-party vendors to deploy or support hardware and software solutionsParticipate in project work including server upgrades, migrations, network enhancements, and moreTrack and document time, solutions, and communication accurately within the ticketing systemTake part in a regular on-call rotation for after-hours supportWhat You Have

4+ years of IT support experience in a helpdesk, MSP, or systems administration roleStrong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with a customer-first mindsetExcellent communication skills—both written and verbalAbility to work independently, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environmentThis role requires local travel to client sites (valid driver’s license required and clean driving record are requiredTechnical Skills That Set You Apart

Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, and Exchange administrationOffice365 setup and troubleshootingVMWare vSphere (v4 or later)Windows Server (2008 or later)Certifications such as A+, Network+, NSE 3+, Sophos Engineer, Cisco IOSCollege degree in Information Technology or related fieldAbout VAF
