Entry-Level Engineer - Environmental, Civil or Geotechnical

What we are looking for

SCS Engineers (SCS) is seeking an independent, detail-oriented engineer to assist with the workload of diverse, challenging solid waste projects out of our Reston, VA office.

Initially, the qualified individual will be expected to provide engineering support to our existing solid waste practice consisting of landfill and landfill gas design, construction, operation, and monitoring, for private and municipal clients.

This position includes opportunities for landfill permitting and design (all phases, including construction plans, specifications and construction documents), engineering analysis, feasibility studies, report writing, as well as construction oversight.

• Laboratory data management and review
• Preparation of plans and specifications, reports, permit applications, and proposals, as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering or related major required.
• Preference for individuals with at least 3 months of relevant solid waste, environmental and / or engineering internship, work and / or research experience.
• Ability to learn AutoCAD or comparable software experience is required.
• Preference for individuals who have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.
• Valid Driver’s License with a driving record in good standing required.

The pay for this position is around $60k-$65k, depending on experience and location. This does not include potential bonuses or our Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
