Job Overview
The Clinical Supply Chain Planner is responsible for managing and overseeing end-to-end clinical supply chain activities for assigned clinical protocols. This role ensures the seamless supply of Clinical Trial Material (CTM) by collaborating with key stakeholders including Clinical Operations, Global Planning, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs), and Contract Research Organizations (CROs).
Key areas of responsibility include forecasting, packaging, labeling, distribution, inventory management, financial planning and budgeting, vendor oversight, and eTMF documentation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage packaging, labeling, and distribution of CTM for global clinical trials
- Support IRT (Interactive Response Technology) development, user acceptance testing (UAT), and system oversight
- Utilize and maintain internal budget forecasting and planning tools
- Partner with Clinical Operations to align on demand assumptions and trial requirements
- Develop supply strategies to maximize efficiency and minimize waste
- Design and manage supply and demand forecasts using web-based optimization tools
- Identify potential supply risks and implement mitigation plans
- Lead label creation and approval processes, including translations and regulatory compliance
- Communicate clinical supply requirements to Global Planning for coordinated execution
- Support return and destruction processes for CTM across assigned protocols
- Manage program and protocol budgets, monitor KPIs, and drive cost-saving initiatives
- Maintain strong relationships with third-party vendors to ensure operational alignment and quality compliance
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Life Sciences or Supply Chain ManagementMinimum 3+ years of experience in clinical supply chain managementStrong understanding of end-to-end clinical supply chain processesExperience with supply / demand forecasting systems (e.g., NSIDE, Bioclinica, 4G, Oracle)Familiarity with IRT systems and their application in clinical trialsSolid understanding of GxP compliance standardsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)Demonstrated adaptability and strategic thinking in response to external influencesExceptional attention to detail and organizational skillsExcellent communication, collaboration, and influencing abilitiesProven ability to manage multiple priorities and complex challenges
