Responsibilities Work in a 20-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) within a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and teaching hospital Patient population includes critically ill or injured children from birth to young adulthood with trauma, surgical, cardiac, respiratory, hematology / oncology, and neurologic conditions Shift schedule is 3x12 hour nights, including weekend shifts Floating required to NICU and other pediatric units within the hospital, but not to sister hospitals Uses specialized equipment such as Hamilton G5 ventilators, DirectLink ICP monitors, Artic Sun temperature management, and Baxer Prismaflex machines Epic EMR is used and previous experience is required Responsibilities include bedside procedures such as central and arterial line placement, lumbar puncture, intubation / extubation, CRRT and ECMO support, and emergency interventions Collaborative team environment including intensivists, therapists, nutritionists, and child life specialists Pre-start online modules must be completed prior to first day Scrubs are provided and must be plain, with no prints allowed RTO must be requested up front and cannot exceed two weeks First-time travelers considered if they have CVPICU experience and meet all other requirements Return staff must have been gone at least six months before being eligible for contract Requirements Active OR RN license required (pending license accepted with proof of application to board) Minimum 2 years of recent PICU RN experience required BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP certification preferred Epic charting experience is required Two recent manager or supervisor references from within the past 24 months required (exceptions may apply for one reference 3-5 years old with documentation) No background or license hits permitted COVID-19 vaccination required without exemption Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-614441.
