Electrical Inspector

Job Description

Summary :  This skilled field position ensures compliance with the  Florida Building Code ,  Miami-Dade County Code , and other regulations regarding the  installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment . The inspector conducts on-site inspections, enforces code compliance, and provides technical guidance.

Key Responsibilities :

• Inspect electrical installations in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings for code compliance.
• Issue notices for code violations and recommend corrective actions.
• Investigate electrical-related fire incidents and substandard installations.
• Inspect electrical appliances in retail settings and enforce removal of unapproved items.
• Check electrical plans and specifications for compliance.
• Confer with contractors, owners, and superiors on complex or unclear cases.
• Conduct joint inspections, Certificate of Use inspections, and respond to complaints.
• Assist in legal enforcement, including securing warrants and supporting prosecutions.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
