Warehouse Operations Technician - 2nd Shift (MI)
Immediate opportunity for a Warehouse Operations Technician to join a top-notch company experiencing rapid growth!
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Maintain and administer warehouse computer networks and related warehouse computing environments including hardware (ASRS), systems software, applications software, and all configurations regarding Warehouse operations.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware (ASRS), software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary.
- Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of ASRS systems and networks, and to diagnose and coordinate system faults and issues.
- Monitor ASRS performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future.
- Confer with mechanical support about how to solve existing ASRS problems.
- Analyze equipment performance records to determine the need for repair or replacement.
- Maintain an inventory of parts for emergency repairs.
- Coordinate with vendors and with company personnel to facilitate purchases.
This is a 6-month contract-to-hire position in Livonia, MI. Work onsite Monday - Friday on 2nd shift, 2pm - 10pm.
REQUIRED SKILLS :
3+ years of warehouse technician experienceKnowledge of LAN / WAN, routers and switches, TCP / IP, EDI, and general telecom technologiesNetworking command prompt commands, i.e., Ping, tracert, netstat, ipconfig / all etc.Understanding the basics of fiber optics. Recognizing fiber cables vs. ethernet (Cat5) cables.Recognizing fiber receiver / transmitter hardware. Understanding and knowing difference between both physical medias.Knowledge of cabling, adapters, and converters.Quickly acquire knowledge and understanding of new and proprietary software.Knowledge of Emulation software (i.e., Tera Term, ProComm) and procedures to connect to Mainframes.Knowledge of Cell Phones and Bluetooth capable devices.Understanding internal Data Flow, i.e., Data collection at Mainframe, download to Roadnet, upload to Mainframe, download to Warehouse logistic systems, etc.Maintaining well organized and up-to-date licensing records and hardware inventories.High consciousness for failover procedures.The ability to troubleshoot via all resources available. Ability to utilize all resources available to successful complete the troubleshooting process independentlyUnderstanding of Warehouse logistic systems, data flow,mechanical workings, and interfacing software.Understanding Battery backup systemsPREFERRED SKILLS :
