About The Position

Must-Have : Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips, experience with various cardiac drips

Description :

Strict 75-mile radius rule applies.

Must reside outside of the specified radius from the facility.

Two years of experience in Stepdown care in an acute care setting is required without exception.

Clinical Interview or auto-offer based on resume review is available.

Ratios in the unit include nurse aides at a ratio of 1 to 10.

The unit has a total of 44 beds, including 8 semi-private rooms.

Charge Nurse serves as a Clinical Supervisor for the unit.

Weekend requirements are every other weekend.

Flexible scheduling is required for holidays and days around holidays.

Telemetry monitoring with Phillips systems is a standard practice.

Nurses are required to read and interpret cardiac strips.

Common drips include Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, and heparin, among others.

BiPap and CPAP are available, but full vents are not used in this unit.

There is an in-house Hospitalist or Intensivist available 24 / 7.

The IV team and pharmacy are available around the clock.

Shifts start at 6 : 45 AM and 6 : 45 PM.

Floating to ICU may be required, but only for Stepdown patients unless the nurse has ICU experience.

Common diagnoses include CABG, cardiovascular surgeries, CHF, and arrhythmias among others.

The average patient census ranges from 32 to 38, with a fast turnover of rooms.

Attendance and floating flexibility are strongly emphasized.

Candidates will be expected to adhere to dress code standards including natural hair colors and no visible tattoos.
