Controller

Controller Position Overview :

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our operation. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of a vertically integrated cannabis company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, finance, manufacturing, and leadership, with preferred but not required experience in horticulture.

Responsibilities :

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making by senior management.
• Coordinate and manage the annual budgeting process, including forecasting revenue and expenses.
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
• Lead and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure the company's financial health and competitiveness.
• Monitor financial health of the company.
