Highway Maintenance Technician II

The work you will do :
Highway Maintenance Technician II District Five / Ocala Maintenance In this role, you are key to FDOT's focus on maintaining Florida roads and bridges free and clear of hazards / unsafe conditions. Top duties include clearing off debris, applying repairs in roads, shoulders, sidewalks, and ditches, trimming trees, closing off roads and guiding traffic following accidents or in smoke / fire conditions, plus installing and replacing roadway signage. You will be on the front lines of road maintenance in crews that ensure the traveling public has full, unencumbered access to all of Florida's roadways in blue skies and after extreme weather events. In addition to regularly scheduled work, this job will require 24 / 7 emergency response, particularly pre and post hurricanes impacting all areas of the state.
