Shipping Assistant

Inova Staffing is looking for a Shipping Assistant for a new client of ours in Cleveland, OH. If you have shipping experience within the industrial and manufacturing field, this job could be for you! 8AM-4 : 30PM $18

Summary / Objective

This position is responsible for accurate, timely shipping of outgoing orders and properly receiving incoming inventory.

Essential Functions

• Accurately pack and ship orders to external customers per the required shipment dates
• Load / unload parts and supplies from outbound / inbound trucks
• Receive parts from suppliers, ensuring they are in good condition and packing slips match the part and quantity received
• Stock all parts in the parts warehouse after they have been received
• Operate a forklift
• Cross-check inventory accuracy with system entries
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and update supplies as needed
• Comply with company safety, environmental and operational policies and procedures

Work Environment

The work environment is an indoor factory with occasional outdoor work to meet delivery / shipping vehicles and / or retrieve inventory from adjacent storage areas.

Physical Demands

The position requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling and lifting for prolonged periods of time. The employee must frequently lift and / or move items over 50 pounds.

Education and Experience

High school degree or GED equivalent

1 to 3 years parts / warehouse related experience preferred

Prior forklift operation preferred

Basic math skills / ability to measure and calculate product length, diameter and weight

This position is subject to successfully completing and passing a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and physical.
