Principal Duties and Responsibilities :

Clinical Practice :

  • Organize patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care plans for assigned patients.
  • Prioritize patient care, considering varying acuity levels.
  • Maintain clear and concise communication for continuity of care.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of adult and geriatric patient growth and development, as applicable.

Quality of Care :

  • Document patient care in compliance with nursing documentation standards.
  • Develop comprehensive care plans based on patient assessments, health care team input, intra-agency referrals, and medical records.
  • Create educational plans for patients and families, following departmental documentation standards.
  • Formulate discharge plans, including resource utilization and community referrals.
  • Evaluate care plan effectiveness and document goal attainment.
  • Actively participate in unit-based and organizational quality management and improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, visitors, and families.
  • Administer medications and perform nursing procedures safely and efficiently.
  • Use equipment and observe infection control protocols.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS :

Education : Graduate of an approved school of nursing. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is required.

Experience : Prior experience not required unless specified for certain specialty areas.

Licensure : Active RN license in the state of Massachusetts
