The Role
Lumen Technologies is seeking a visionary and strategic leader to serve as Vice President of Public Sector Total Managed Network and Cyber Security Services. This executive will lead the development, delivery, and growth of managed services tailored to federal, state, and local government agencies. The VP will drive innovation, operational efficiency, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction across a portfolio of services including IP VPN, Internet, SD-WAN, Trusted Internet Connections, Cybersecurity, Multi-cloud Networks, and VoIP, and collaboration solutions.
The Main Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership : Define and execute the vision for Managed Services within the Public Sector business unit. Align service offers government digital transformation initiatives and mission-critical needs.
Business Development & Growth : Drive revenue growth through strategic partnerships, customer acquisition, and expansion of existing accounts. Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to develop go-to-market strategies.
Operational Excellence : Oversee service delivery, performance metrics, and customer satisfaction across all managed network services. Ensure compliance with government regulations and security standards.
Innovation & Product Strategy : Lead the evolution of Lumen's managed services portfolio to meet emerging public sector needs. Partner with technology teams to integrate AI, automation, and next-gen connectivity solutions.
Team Leadership : Build and mentor a high-performing team of NOC / SOC personnel. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and customer-centricity.
What We Look For in a Candidate
15+ years of experience in telecommunications, IT services, or network infrastructure, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Deep understanding of public sector procurement, compliance, and mission requirements. Proven track record of leading large-scale managed services programs. Strong business acumen and ability to translate technical capabilities into customer value. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred. Security Clearance : TS / SCI or eligible to obtain.
Preferred Qualifications : Experience with local municipality, state, and federal contracts (e.g., EIS, GSA, DoD, Naspo). Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, MITRE Att&ck, FedRAMP, JITC, FISMA). Background in digital transformation initiatives for government entities.
Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors. Location Based Pay Ranges $207,022 - $276,030 in all states.
