Principal Software Solution Architect

Location : Aurora, CO (On / Off-Site)

Clearance : TS / SCI with CI Polygraph

DeNOVO Solutions is seeking a Principal Software Solution Architect to define enterprise-level software architecture across front-end, back-end, data processing, and AI / ML systems. In this role, you will lead modernization efforts across Node / Express, Vue, NiFi, and cloud-native platforms, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performance systems for mission operations. You will shape cross-platform integration strategies, mentor senior engineers, and serve as a technical authority in architecture, governance and innovation across the enterprise.

A Day in the Life :

Architectural Leadership : Define and enforce cross-platform architectural standards across Vue, Node / Express, NiFi, and AI / ML integration layers.

Cloud Modernization : Architect cloud-native, scalable, and fault-tolerant deployments leveraging AWS ECS, Lambda, and S3.

Enterprise Strategy : Develop long-term strategies for data architecture, communication, and service integration.

Collaboration : Partner with DevOps and Security teams to ensure CI / CD, observability, and compliance frameworks are implemented and enforced.

Innovation : Lead modernization initiatives, evaluate frameworks, and optimize software for performance, maintainability, and scalability.

Mentorship : Mentor senior engineers, lead architectural review boards, and ensure consistency and innovation across development teams.

Tools, Technologies, Skills, & Knowledge :

Languages & Frameworks : Vue.js, Node.js, Express, Python (AI / ML orchestration)

Data Systems & Processing : MongoDB, NiFi

Cloud & DevOps : AWS (ECS, Lambda, S3), GitHub Actions

Monitoring & Observability : Datadog, CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry

Architecture & Documentation Tools : Draw.io, Mermaid, PlantUML

Core Expertise : Enterprise architecture, scalable design, microservices, data strategy, CI / CD integration, performance optimization, architectural governance, and modernization leadership

What You Need :

Experience : Fifteen (15) to twenty (20) years of related professional experience supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Education : Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline (e.g., statistics, mathematics, operations research, cybersecurity, engineering, or data science). A Master's degree may substitute for two years of experience; a PhD may substitute for four years. An additional two years of related experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
