Accounts Payable Specialist
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Austin, Texas, within the dynamic hospitality industry. Responsibilities :
- Manage sales tax processes, including transactions within Avalara and billing systems, ensuring accurate rates and timely filings.
- Coordinate tax tracker updates with internal departments and external firms for state, federal, and property tax matters.
- Oversee customer reimbursement workflows, including payment processing, subledger reconciliation, and resolving discrepancies.
- Process and manage accounts payable transactions with adherence to company policies and accuracy standards.
- Verify invoice details such as pricing, quantities, and terms to ensure correctness before processing payments.
- Communicate with vendors and customers to resolve payment-related issues and discrepancies efficiently.
- Execute weekly and monthly payment runs, maintaining compliance with payment terms and schedules.
- Reconcile purchase card transactions and ensure accounts are accurately updated.
- Maintain organized records of accounts payable activities and assist in vendor statement reconciliations.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and information as needed.
Requirements :
Proven experience in accounts payable operations, including coding invoices and account reconciliation.Familiarity with automated clearing house (ACH) payments and check run processes.Knowledge of sales tax regulations, monthly filings, and returns using Avalara.Experience with expense recognition and reimbursement procedures.Strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate financial records and addressing discrepancies.Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and internal teams.Proficiency in financial reporting and contributing to process improvements.Understanding of accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
