EWIS LEAD ENGINEER - AEROSPACE eVTOL - CALIFORNIA - ON SITE 5 DAYS A WEEK

As the Electric Wiring Interconnect System (EWIS) Principal / Lead Engineer, you will report to the Engineering Manager and be responsible for all activities related to the system development such as electrical hardware definition (connector, cables etc.

wiring routing, support zonal analysis and systems installation, support electrical diagrams design and grounding scheme

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES DESIGN FOR DEVELOPMENT

• Develop following requirements;
• Installation of all wire, wiring device, or combination of these, including termination devices, installed in any area of the airplane for the purpose of transmitting electrical energy, including data and signals, between two or more intended termination points.
• Responsible for the design, research and development of advanced new electric hardware technology application for eVTOL program and also, wire and maintain high-voltage / low-voltage power cables installation, minimizing the risk of wire damage.
• To create / validate the design guidance / methodology for aircraft level EWIS standards for wire / cable installation and structure & system designs to use in design analysis and system / equipment qualification tests.
• Develop plan and execute aircraft level validation & verification activities.

DESIGN FOR CERTIFICATION

• Responsible for systems requirements and certification reports (e.g. : System Description report, Harness Installation Inspection report, etc )
• Responsible for discussing Certification approach and Means of Compliance with Certification Authority.
• Flexibility to travel 20% of the time to visit suppliers, support systems installation and tests.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• A Bachelor’s Degree of Electrical Engineering. Master degree in a technical and / or management specialty related to EWIS is preferred. Minimum Experience
• 10+ years of deep, hands-on experience in EWIS development, design, and testing in a Military, Commercial, or business aircraft development programs.
• 10+ years of demonstrated experience specific to, electrical hardware, cables and wiring and associated technologies and managing system suppliers as the technical point of contact.
• In-depth and current knowledge of Part 25 regulatory requirements, Subpart H, Sections 25.1701 through 25.1733.
• In-depth and current knowledge FAA HIRF Rule and AC 20-158A, RTCA / DO-160D / E / F / G (dedicated sections), SAE ARP5412, 5414, 5415, 5416, 5583 and ARP6205.

OTHER JOB-SPECIFIC SKILLS

• High voltage Electric Motor and Battery experience ( 800v)
• Experience and expertise in eVTOL (electrical vertical takeoff and landing) or Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) desired.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret the results of engineering analyses.
• Team leadership, strong decision making and communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills across multi-disciplinary skill sets.
• Understand the philosophies behind the Zonal Analysis Procedure and interact with physical installation. (e.g. : Fire zone, fuel tank, etc ).
• Understand the broad technical aspects of aircraft EWIS inspection.
• Familiarity with establishment of wiring diagram and harness 3D layout (Mentor Graphics, Capital, CATIA V5 and / or equivalent tool)
• Understand the regulatory expectations to delivery the initial Certification Plan and Report Approval.
