Strategic Leadership Define and lead the strategic vision for enterprise data pipelines and platform architecture; guide modernization of legacy systems; influence enterprise data strategy through collaboration with executive leadership. Data Engineering & Pipeline Development Own the full data lifecycle; design and implement scalable ETL / ELT pipelines and real?time streaming workflows; ensure pipeline efficiency, resiliency, and data quality. Architecture & Platform Oversight Oversee design and optimization of hybrid data architectures; define and enforce enterprise data modeling standards, metadata practices, and architectural frameworks; lead evaluation and integration of modern data platforms. Operations, Monitoring & Compliance Establish operational monitoring, observability, and incident response; ensure compliance with data governance, privacy laws, security frameworks, and industry regulations; partner with IT, Risk, Compliance, and Security teams. Collaboration & Influence Collaborate with business stakeholders and analytics teams; promote enterprise?wide data literacy; advocate for data best practices and architectural discipline. Team Leadership Build, manage, and mentor high?performing data engineering, architecture, and platform operations teams; manage offshore personnel; promote innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement; provide coaching and career development. Acquire and maintain proficiency in the Banks policies and procedures, and adhere to all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Complete all assigned compliance training in a timely manner. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (Masters preferred). Minimum ten years of progressive data engineering and architecture experience, including at least five years in a leadership capacity. Experience in financial services or other highly regulated environments preferred. Full?time remote position with occasional in?person meetings. Work hours : 37.5 per week.
Director of Data Engineering Information Technology
SUMMARY : The VP, Director of Data Engineering is a strategic and hands?on leadership role responsible for defining and executing the vision for enterprise data engineering, pipeline development, and platform architecture. This position leads the design, development, and operational oversight of scalable data pipelines and systems that enable data integration, analytics, reporting, and data science across the organization. The leader ensures delivery of secure, compliant, and high?performing data environments, guiding teams through robust modern data platforms to advance the Banks data maturity and drive business value.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive experience designing and managing complex data pipelines, platform architecture, and distributed data systems.
- Strong programming and scripting skills in SQL, Python, R, and experience with ETL / ELT tools and orchestration frameworks.
- Hands?on experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, or similar.
- Proven success in leading and scaling cross?functional technical teams in data engineering and platform architecture.
- Proficiency in cloud?based data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid cloud / on?premises architectures.
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF), CI / CD pipelines, version control, and DevOps tools.
- Knowledge of metadata management, data quality frameworks, and data lineage tooling.
- Demonstrated ability to align data initiatives with business strategies and drive measurable impact.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non?technical stakeholders.
