• Conduct a thorough examination of the sick or injured patient and assist other medical personnel.
• Administer prompt and efficient basic and advanced life support care within the limits of licensure or certifications.
• Provide safe and efficient patient transport in the ambulance to the medical facility.
• Responsible for full knowledge of the ambulance’s basic life support equipment and its proper use.

Paramedic ’s Qualifications

• A High School Diploma / GED or a National or State certification as an Advanced EMT paramedic is required .
• Current CPR and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association are required.
• Additional certifications such as NALS, PALS, PHTLS, PEEP, and instructor certifications are preferred but not required.
• A valid and current Driver’s License is required; one must be able to drive large vehicles in normal and adverse conditions.
• Essential written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are required.
