The Manager, Healthcare And Well-Being Strategy, is a visionary leader responsible for designing and optimizing innovative strategies that advance General Motors' health and well-being objectives. This position reports to the Director, Global Benefits, Hourly Compensation & Labor Relations. This role requires an expert in self-insured employer healthcare, well-being strategy & programming, and cross-functional leadership, with a proven ability to translate strategic vision into measurable outcomes that enhance employee health, productivity, and engagement. This role has direct reports, will coordinate cross-functionally, and serve as a leader and mentor to immediate team members. The Senior Manager, Healthcare And Well-Being Strategy, is instrumental in driving transformative change across the organization. By developing innovative programs and fostering a culture of health, this leader ensures that employees thrive, productivity rises, and the organization remains competitive and resilient in a rapidly evolving landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
- Develop and oversee the execution of multi-year strategic plans targeting healthcare and well-being improvements, including non-occupational health onsite and / or near-site clinics
- Lead the identification of emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges in healthcare and employee well-being, adapting plans accordingly
- Align healthcare and wellness strategies with GM's business goals, values, and culture
Program Development & Management
Design, launch, and manage comprehensive health and wellness programs, ensuring they meet needs of employeesOversee the integration of physical, emotional, and financial well-being initiatives, including preventive care, mental health support, and chronic condition managementEstablish metrics for program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement through data-driven insightsStakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including HR, Labor, Legal, Tax, Operations, and Executive LeadershipEngage with external partners such as healthcare providers, insurance carriers, wellness consultants, and community organizationsFacilitate cross-functional teams to deliver integrated healthcare and well-being solutionsData Analysis & Reporting
Analyze health and wellness data to identify opportunities for improvement and demonstrate program impactPrepare detailed reports and presentations for senior leadership, translating complex data into actionable recommendationsMonitor and communicate regulatory changes or industry best practices affecting health and well-being programsLeadership & Coaching
Serve as a thought leader and mentor to staff and cross-functional team membersFoster a culture of health, inclusion, and engagement throughout the organizationChampion well-being initiatives at all organizational levels, modeling behaviors and practicesBudgeting & Resource Allocation
Develop and manage budgets for healthcare and wellness initiatives, ensuring effective allocation of resourcesIdentify opportunities for cost savings without compromising on quality or outcomesRisk Management & Compliance
Ensure all healthcare and well-being programs comply with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policiesQualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, public health, human resources, business, finance, or related field required. Master's degree preferred.Experience : Minimum of 6 years' experience in healthcare strategy, employee well-being, wellness program management, or a related field, preferably in a complex or large organization.Experience in value-based healthcare arrangements, non-occupational health onsite or near-site clinics, healthcare and pharmacy design and innovationExceptional strategic thinking and analytical abilities.Strong project management and organizational skills.Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets and vendor relationships.Proficient in data analysis and reporting, with experience using relevant software and tools.Knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills.High degree of professionalism, discretion, and ethical standards.Key Competencies

The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position, as well as geography of the selected candidate.The salary range for this role is $114,400 - $179,000.
