Job Summary :
Reporting to the VP Technical Accounting SEC Reporting and Global SOX Compliance, the Director of Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting will possess a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and technical accounting guidance. As the subject matter expert for technical accounting matters, this individual will research, document and communicate conclusions around technical accounting matters including acquisition accounting and new accounting pronouncements. In addition, this individual will be responsible for all aspects of external SEC reporting including staying abreast of new SEC requirements and producing best in class reporting and disclosure, as well as accounting for stock-based compensation. This person will interact with the Company's auditors with respect to all aspects of financial reporting, and is required to understand the business objectives, key operation cycles as well as proactively create analysis and tools to identify issues, and provide recommendations for improvement and drive decisions and actions.
In this role, you will :
- Own the assessment and implementation of all technical accounting topics impacting the company, including evaluation, documentation and communication of new accounting pronouncements, SEC reporting and general reporting trends
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams, including accounting, finance, legal, business development, and tax departments, on technical accounting matters and complex new or contemplated transactions.
- Lead financial accounting aspect of mergers and acquisition activity including financial due diligence reviews, evaluating and executing purchase accounting, including working with external valuation specialists and partnering with other teams on the financial integrations of acquisitions.
- Develop, review, and maintain comprehensive accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and professional growth opportunities.
- Lead the SEC financial reporting team in the filing of quarterly and annual SEC reports including Form 10-Q / 10-K, proxy statement and other periodic reports
- Oversee the preparation of the monthly / quarterly financial statements including financial reporting package, cash flow statement, earnings release, investor presentations, etc
- Review the monthly / quarterly accounting and preparation of various technical accounting items including EPS calculations, debt and equity transactions, stock based compensation accounting, complex revenue arrangements, leases, etc.
- Develop, implement and maintain effective internal controls in relation to the technical accounting and financial reporting processes
- Recommend and lead the implementation of process improvements including automation and AI to simplify, standardize and streamline technical accounting and financial reporting processes
- Work closely with external auditors to support the quarterly and annual audit process
- Provide periodic technical accounting training to members of the Finance organization

10+ years of relevant technical accounting and financial reporting experience, requiredBachelor or Master's degree in AccountingCertified Public Accountant (CPA) license is requiredCombination of Big 4 public accounting and public company experience preferredStrong technical accounting background with a thorough knowledge of US GAAP, SOX, and SEC reporting standards, as well as experience with technical accounting research and preparation of accounting position papersExperience preparing SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) and managing the audit processStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-financial stakeholders.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.Proven ability to lead and manage a team, providing effective coaching and development.High attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills with a desire for continuous improvementAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.Proficient in financial reporting software (Workiva); experience with SAP system is a plus.Salary Range
$209,000 - $212,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
