Chief Data & AI Officer
The Chief Data & AI Officer (CDAO) is a transformative enterprise leader responsible for maximizing the value of data, analytics, and AI to fuel growth, operational excellence, and customer trust. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the CDAO will define and execute the enterprise strategy for data and AI, ensuring intelligent automation, predictive insights, and ethical AI adoption across all business domains. This leader will establish enterprise governance, create and chair a Data & AI Council, and build a Center of Excellence to scale data science and AI solutions. The CDAO will partner closely with business leaders to embed AI in underwriting, claims, finance, and customer operations, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and other regulatory frameworks. The role will also drive data literacy, foster innovation, and shape a culture where AI and analytics accelerate digital transformation and deliver measurable business outcomes.
Specific Duties :
- Enterprise Strategy & Leadership Architect and deliver a forward-looking enterprise data & AI strategy aligned with business goals. Lead a cross-functional Data & AI Council and establish a Center of Excellence to promote innovation, governance, and scalability.
- AI Enablement & Automation Identify and operationalize high-impact AI use cases that improve efficiency, reduce risk, and elevate customer experiences. Drive intelligent automation across core workflows and services.
- Data Governance & Compliance Implement enterprise-wide data governance, stewardship, and quality standards. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy and regulatory requirements.
- Analytics & Insights Build a high-performing analytics function delivering predictive insights, decision support, and enterprise KPIs. Promote data literacy and self-service capabilities across the business.
- Innovation & Partnerships Lead AI / ML research and adoption (NLP, computer vision, generative AI). Build partnerships with academia, startups, and vendors to stay ahead of emerging technologies and trends.
- Culture & Talent Development Cultivate a data-driven, AI-enabled culture. Recruit and mentor top talent, promote agile delivery, and champion continuous learning and responsible AI practices.
Qualifications, Experience Required :
10+ years of progressive leadership in data, analytics, and AI.Proven success driving enterprise-scale AI and automation initiatives.Expertise in data architecture, cloud platforms (Snowflake, Azure, AWS), and modern analytics tools.Strong knowledge of HIPAA, GDPR, and regulatory requirements for data privacy and security.Demonstrated success building governance frameworks and Centers of Excellence.Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field; PhD preferred.Preferred Attributes :
