Substation Lead Electrical Engineer

The Opportunity

Ulteig is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Lead Substation Electrical Engineer to support Renewables, Utility, and Power projects. The Lead Electrical Engineer acts as a technical leader, applying standard engineering techniques and procedures on complex projects. Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating detailed phases of assigned project work.

What You'll Do

You will make design recommendations, adaptations, and modifications for utility substations, relay automation equipment, and related drawings. You will perform calculations using engineering formulas and skills, and provide technical guidance to other engineers.

What We Expect from You

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred), from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent.
• PE registration required.
• 7+ years of engineering experience.
• Effective leadership and mentoring skills.
• Excellent communication, time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead complex substation projects with multidisciplinary teams from estimation and proposals to detailed design, commissioning, and construction support.
• Proficiency in substation protection and control design and industry standards.
• Experience reviewing and producing design drawings, including one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel elevations.
• Ability to perform AC & DC substation studies.
• Knowledge of substation physical equipment and basic relay settings is a plus.
• On-site commissioning and construction support experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of NEC standards is a plus.
• Proven experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Up to 15% travel required.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Eligibility to work permanently in the US.

Additional Details

Target base salary range : $119,600 - $155,000. Salary factors include skills, education, experience, location, and internal equity.

This position will be posted for at least 3 days and up to 60 days until filled or canceled.
