Summary : The Maintenance Manager will manage the everyday operation and upkeep of the equipment and building, planning and implementing projects and safety issues within and around the plant.
Responsibilities
- Ensures preventive maintenance.
- Identifies equipment malfunction, generates work orders, determines proper repair procedures and assigns appropriate personnel to accomplish the task.
- Documents results based on schedule and priority.
- Ensures emergency response and repair.
- Assists mechanics as needed.
- Maintains equipment files, inventory and manages the purchase and / or re-supply of components as necessary to complete assigned projects.
- Works with outside machine vendors, as necessary, to acquire fabricated parts.
- Completes regulatory paperwork in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Resolve problems through effective communication.
- Ensures compliance and safety and communicates with management and staff as necessary.
- Maintains inventory control system.
- Administrator to CMMS System Maintain X. Approves all PMs and W.Os completed by Maintenance Staff.
- Trains all users on the use of the System.
Supervisory
Selects, trains, and develops an effective, efficient, qualified maintenance workforce staff.Monitors department work productivity and recommends and implements changes to continually improve work productivity.Ensures that the maintenance and production workforce is performing their functions safely.Makes recommendations for changes or improvement, when necessary, to prevent accidents or injuries.Conducts disciplinary actions when necessary for the maintenance workforce.Implements any direct W.O and P.M issued from the Maintenance Manager and / or C.M.M.S program and ensures they are completed in a timely manner.Ensures all W.Os and P.Ms are completed correctly and assigned specifications as indicated on orders.Performs any general work or other assignments necessary to ensure a clean, healthy and efficient facility while vigorously supporting commitment to Safety.Mechanical troubleshooting skills.Must be able to evaluate, repair, and operate production equipment.Must be able to troubleshoot, change, maintain, and repair warehouse equipment.Welding and hand, and power tool skills are required to repair and maintain equipment, as well as perform other maintenance functions.Must have the ability to add, multiply, and divide in units of measure accurately.Ability to read and follow directions.Computer and accurate data entry skills.Skilled operation of stand-up and sit-down forklifts.Requirements
Education and Experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance within a plant or manufacturing facility. Associates' or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience required.Industry background in Food / Bakery preferred.Must be able to communicate issues verbally, hear and follow instructions.Must be able to operate tools and equipment to perform various maintenance and / or production tasks.Must be able to correctly handle chemicals and dry materials with potential hazards associated with them.
