Job Title : Athletic Field Maintenance Technician

Under general supervision, this position prepares and maintains the athletic fields for Foley High School. Position maintains the field and grounds at Coastal Alabama Farmers and Fisherman's Market. Additionally, the position maintains the sand volleyball complex and pickleball courts. Supports Foley Sports Tourism events when required. Operates small equipment in the maintenance of complexes and the upkeep of fields. Reports to the Foley Sports Complex ManagerAgronomist.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare and maintain the athletic fields for Foley High School. This includes lining with a robotic painter, topdressing, aerifying, fertilizing, and pest / weed control.
• Works as a liaison to schools for fields, event organizers for events, and public for sand courts.
• Maintain the field and grounds at Coastal Alabama Farmers and Fisherman's Market. This includes mowing with a pull-behind mower, string trimming, light repairs, irrigation, and flower bed maintenance.
• Maintain the sand volleyball complex. This includes daily upkeep of the facility including nets, courts, sand, and surrounding area. Sand will need to be tilled occasionally.
• Maintain the pickleball courts. This includes blowing off courts, maintaining net heights, and removing garbage.
• Operates robotic painters requiring calculations, field and court layouts, and irrigation repairs.
• Supports Foley Sports Tourism events when required.
• Utilizes and / or operates a variety of equipment and / or machinery to include tractors, sprayers, top dressers, tillers, etc.

Additional Functions :

Education and Experience : High School Diploma or its equivalent and two (2) years of experience in a job related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Special Qualifications : Valid Driver's License.

The City pays 50% of family coverage. The employee cost for family health, vision and hearing is $67.47 per semi-monthly deduction cycle and dental is $10.00 per semi-monthly deduction cycle. The total monthly cost for family health and dental coverage is $154.94.
