Clinical Nursing Director II

The Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS) is seeking a Clinical Nursing Director II. This position is administratively responsible for leading and managing multiple complex programs or organizational areas with accountability and responsibility for programmatic planning, directing, implementing, and evaluating the accomplishment of both short and long-term nursing service goals and objectives. Additionally, the position is responsible for recruiting, staffing, directing, and controlling those areas within the scope of its responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions include planning, organizing and leading the components, scope and implementation of nursing operations; determining the subordinate organizational structure, clinical operations, standards and practices; directing the preparation of budgets for assigned areas; establishing strategic priorities and operational guidelines for setting goals and objectives for delegated areas of responsibility; interpreting and communicating nursing and organizational philosophy goals, objectives, Departmental policies and procedures; and evaluating the performance of subordinates; resolving problems and issues involving grievances or discipline.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution and a relevant Master's degree in nursing or administration from an accredited institution. Additionally, four years of experience in nursing management at the level of Nurse Manager or higher in a clinical environment supervising is required. A current active license to practice as a Registered Nurse issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing is required.
