Per Diem Rehabilitation Aide

The Per Diem Rehabilitation Aide will be responsible for assisting therapist / assistant teams in caring for their patients. The aide will prepare treatment areas; assist with toileting patients, clean equipment, and perform various duties as assigned. The aide will also provide assistance to patients after therapy hours with transfers and mobility as directed by therapists.

Job Duties and Responsibilities :

• Assist therapist and assistant with treatment programs.
• Provides assistance to patients for toileting and ADL care as needed.
• Provides assistance with Speech Therapy and Dining Program as scheduled.
• Maintains department equipment including but not limited to hydrocollator, cold pac freezer, washer and dryer as well as wheelchairs.
• Prepares treatment areas.
• Maintains / stocks linens and supplies.
• Completes charge reconciliation.
• Assists the therapist in patient transport to and from the gym / speech therapy office.

Physical and Sensory Requirements :

Must be able to sit for up to thirty minutes at a time. Be able to tolerate standing for thirty to forty-five minutes consecutively and be able to walk on level surfaces, stairs, carpeted surfaces, ramps for up to thirty minutes consecutively. Must have the ability to lift / move patients up to 300 lbs., push / pull patients weighting up to 300 lbs. Must have the ability to occasionally stoop / bend, crouch, kneel and reach above shoulder level. Must be capable of tactile sensation as it relates to feeling for muscle spasms, textures and skin temperature. Must have the ability to hear as it relates to normal conversation and ability to hear call bells. Must be capable of seeing as it relates to general vision, depth perception and peripheral vision.

Education : High School Diploma.

Training and Experience :

Preferred experience in the medical field.
