PCU RN Job Details – Asheville, NC

Location : Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)

Unit : Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC) – 40-bed stepdown unit

Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract

Start Date : November 2, 2025

End Date : February 1, 2026

Shift : 6 : 45 AM – 7 : 15 PM (12-hour day shifts)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1680–$1800

Weekend Requirement : Minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

On-Call : No call required

PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)

Minimum 1 year of recent stepdown, progressive care, or telemetry nursing experience

Current ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)

Experience with cardiovascular or vascular surgery patient populations preferred (e.g., open heart, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass)

Familiarity with Cerner EMR is a plus

Strong clinical skills, adaptability, and ability to float to similar units as needed

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

PCU RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from cardiovascular and vascular surgeries, as well as medical cardiology patients

Monitor and interpret telemetry, respond promptly to changes in patient condition

Manage chest tubes, epidurals, tube feedings, and IV infusions (including cardiac gtt management)

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Accurately document care and interventions in Cerner EMR

Maintain a safe, supportive environment for patients and staff

Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and dress code (navy or white scrubs)
